A wave of speculation recently swept through online communities regarding a purported new digital currency initiative linked to U.S. President Donald Trump. However, entities closely associated with the President are now stepping forward to provide clarity and advise vigilance against misinformation.

World Liberty Financial Dispels Rumors

The team behind World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has directly addressed the swirling conjecture about President Trump launching a new token. In a clear statement, the platform reiterated its unique position as the sole DeFi project officially endorsed by the Trump family. They issued a strong caution to the public via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on May 13, 2025: “Don’t be fooled. There is no new Trump crypto project. WLFI is the only DeFi project backed by the Trumps. Anyone else pushing fake tokens is just a scammer trying to take advantage of people who don’t know better.” The WLFI team stressed that any other entities promoting alleged official tokens are misrepresenting their association.

Clarifications from Trump Associates

The rumors about a new memecoin, potentially ticketed as “TRUTH,” gained momentum after a social media post by President Trump on May 11. In his communication, the President used the word “TRUTH” in all capital letters, which some community members interpreted as an allusion to a new cryptocurrency. This interpretation was reportedly amplified by figures such as Ran Neuner of Crypto Banter, who suggested an imminent launch.

Responding to this growing narrative, the developers associated with Truth Social, the social media platform connected to President Trump, unequivocally denied any plans for a memecoin. They emphasized that no such project is in development or even contemplated, urging users to remain cautious. This stance was publicly supported by Donald Trump Jr., who also confirmed that no new token was being introduced.

A Pattern of Speculation

This isn’t the first time such rumors have surfaced. Before WLFI was officially announced, similar unfounded claims circulated about a different memecoin supposedly linked to President Trump, which was then referred to as Restore The Republic (RTR). Those claims also turned out to be false.

It is worth noting that officially recognized memecoins connected with the Trump family are already in circulation. The TRUMP token, associated with Donald Trump, and the MELANIA token, linked to his wife, were both introduced in January 2025. Investors and enthusiasts are advised to seek information from official channels to avoid potential scams.
